Multi Element expansion joint replaced due to failing 3 cell cast.

M50 Concession Ltd contracted USL Structural Protection to replace a failing 3 cell cast in a Multi Element Expansion joint. Due to the footfall on the M50 the road could not be closed to the public, requiring USL Structural Protection to work through the early hours of the morning to complete the job.

Our Solution:

Replace the 16 metre joint with a Modular Transflex TR 380 system negating the need for ‘road bridging plates’ to allow traffic to run as normal during the day. The successful completion of this project on time, within budget and with limited disruption to the public caused M50 Concession Ltd to contract USL Structural Protection for a further job. To replace the larger 4 cell cast in a Multi Element Expansion Joint at the north end of the bridge.
